The Latin American Symposium of Solid State Physics (SLAFES) is one of the most important and traditional in the area of Physics in the region. The seventeen previous events have been organized by eight different countries, the last two held in Venezuela (Mérida, 2002) and Cuba (La Habana, 2004). The next event will be held in Puebla, México in november 2006. The program will include plenary sessions, conferences and posters sessions.
