Welcome! I am a theoretical quantum physicist at the
Institute of Physics of the
University of Puebla in Puebla City, Mexico.
My current research interests include quantum optics, open quantum systems, and quantum information, emphasizing the implementation of quantum protocols in cavity QED systems.
About me
From 2000 to 2005 I studied physics at the Faculty of Sciences of the National University of Mexico.
In 2011 I finished my PhD in theoretical physics under the supervision of Prof. Thomas H. Seligman.
The same year I moved to Saarbrücken as a Conacyt postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Giovanna Morigi.
Between 2013 and 2016, I worked as a postdoc in the quantum physics group led by Prof. Gernot Alber at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Part of my work can be "nicely" illustrated and animated. You can click on each image
to start the animation.

Wigner function of the field inside two optical cavities after sequential interaction with two identical two-level atoms. The animation displays different values of the interaction time. The absence of interference fringes (right panel) indicates a special symmetry of the atomic states after the interaction with the first cavity. This can be exploited to postselect the atoms in a maximally entangled state. The work is related to Refs.: Phys. Rev. A 90, 012304 (2015) and arxiv:1506.04076.

Scattering echoes displayed in a Poincaré section where two outer hyperbolic fixed points lie at infinity. An incoming set of initial conditions is shown at the left. The Husimi function for an initial Gaussian wave-packet of the analogue quantum version is shown at the right. Related Refs.: JNMP 12,s1 33 (2005) and bachelor thesis (in Spanish).
Evolution of a Gaussian wave-packet with its centre initially matching the location of
an hyperbolic fixed point of the Poincaré section in the classical counterpart.
